The trails and mountains of El Rosario served as the stage for the III Brutraltrail Machado 2026, a trail running event that is part of the III Circuito CXM Isla de Tenerife 2026. The race, organized by Club Guagüeros in collaboration with Conchip Canarias and the Sports Department of the El Rosario City Council, attracted 300 runners.
In the main 16 km race, Jorge Hernández (Canary Runner) secured victory with a time of 1:15’39’’. He was followed by Iván Ojeda (Voy Yooo Trail Team) in second place (1:16’02’’) and José David Lutzardo (Tenerife Outdoor) in third (1:19’08’’). In the women's category, Libertad Rivero (Voy Yooo Trail Team) was the winner with 1:36’10’’, followed by Eva Ortega (1:43’07’’) and Ana Karina Semperena (CD Top Trail) (1:43’55’’).
The shorter 7.5 km distance saw Ossama Ghazi as the men's winner, completing the course in 37’22’’. Alberto Rodríguez (CD Pombrol Atletismo) finished second with 37’55’’, and Ángel Rubén Luis took third with 39’23’’. In the women's race, Ángela Morales (CD Vallivana) won with 52’17’’, followed by her clubmate Guacimara Ramos (54’06’’) and Mónica Falcón (56’45’’).
Runner Jesús Meneses also overcame his personal challenge against multiple sclerosis during the event.
The traditional awards ceremony was attended by the mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, councilors Juan Jesús del Rosario and Yeray Gutiérrez, members of the Festival Commission, and representatives of the sponsoring companies. After the competition, participants enjoyed a paella and entertainment from DJ Martíns and Batucada Almagec.
