The port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is in the final stages of preparation for a Holy Mass to be presided over by the Pope tomorrow, June 12, at 12:15 PM in the Dársena de Los Llanos. The venue, spanning 42,200 square meters, will feature a 900-square-meter presbytery for this historic event, which will conclude the Holy Father's apostolic visit to Spain.
Under the theme "Lift up your gaze," the Pontiff's visit to the Canary Islands seeks to draw attention to the archipelago's migratory reality. This message will be central to the large-scale Eucharist that will bring together thousands of faithful at the port facility.
In light of the event, the public is reminded of the main security and mobility measures planned for the day. Maritime traffic in the Dársena de Los Llanos will be closed between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The southern access to the port (Auditorium) will be closed to ordinary traffic, both entry and exit, from 12:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, the service road between the Auditorium and Barranco de Santos will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians during the same hours.
Access to and from the port will be facilitated through the North Pier and the Fishing Dock. Pedestrian transit between the port and the city, in the vicinity of the Link Pier, must be made via the Agustín de Betancourt Maritime Station (Puerto-Ciudad Building). The L-2 esplanade, the outer dike of Los Llanos, and areas adjacent to the Auditorium will be considered restricted access zones, with entry permitted only to previously identified and authorized workers for operational reasons.
The Mass is scheduled to conclude around 2:30 PM, although restrictions on mobility and port operations will remain in place until full normalization of the area.
