Homeowners in the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have posted ads offering their balconies and terraces as private boxes to watch the procession of Pope Leo XIV this Friday, June 12th, thus avoiding crowds.

The visit of Pope Leo XIV to the Tenerife capital this Friday, June 12th, has sparked an unusual market. Property owners in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have turned to platforms like Wallapop to offer their private balconies and terraces as exclusive viewing boxes for the Pontiff's official procession, allowing attendees to avoid public crowds.
Checking these online marketplaces reveals a surge in offers along key city routes designated for the papal entourage. Prices vary based on property features, included amenities, and exact floor level, with options for individual rentals or group packages.
On La Salle Avenue, a four-square-meter balcony accommodating three to four people is available for rent at 100 euros per person, including a snack service. This spot is highlighted for its strategic location opposite the La Salle College, a significant point on the urban itinerary.
On El Pilar Street, another central route, at least two types of listings are present. One offers a 15-square-meter balcony on the first floor for up to five people at 100 euros each, inclusive of lounge access, bathroom use, and refreshments like cava. Another listing on the same street, on the fourth floor, charges a flat rate of 280 euros for a group of up to four, including a private toilet and a bottle of cava. This latter option also provides overnight accommodation in a guest room for an additional 120 euros.
The advertised locations align with the official route. Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to arrive in Santa Cruz de Tenerife at 11:30 AM. The papal route will traverse La Salle Avenue, Plaza Weyler, Méndez Núñez, El Pilar Street, Villalba Hervás, and Avenida de La Marina, before proceeding towards the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the institutional mass.
