The celebrations, which began with the opening speech, include emblematic events such as the queen election galas, the popular Baile de Magos (Wizards' Dance), and the traditional flower and cross exhibitions. These activities, deeply rooted in the city's history, mark the festive calendar of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Among the prominent cultural proposals is the exhibition 'Los Rastros del Agua' by artist M. Lohrum at the Sala de Los Lavaderos, available until May 3. Additionally, the Central Municipal Library hosts the exhibition 'Mujeres Premios Nobel' until May 8 and 'Errata: una sinfonía tipográfica entre risografía y letterpress' until May 10.
Music also has its place with the 'Armonía en el Templo' concerts at the Masonic Temple of Santa Cruz, running until May 17. Furthermore, Canarian Literature Day 2026 will be dedicated to the figure of Alfonso García-Ramos, with a selection of his works at the Central Municipal Library until May 31.
For literature enthusiasts, the Santa Cruz Book Fair 2026 (FDLSC26) will take place from April 30 to May 4 in Parque García Sanabria, featuring book presentations, author meetings, and activities for the whole family. Concurrently, the XLIX Regional Exhibition of Flowers, Plants, and Traditional Canarian Crafts will open on April 30 in the same park.
The program also includes sports activities such as the X Tenerife Ports Tournament basketball competition on April 25, the Canary Islands boxing championship final, and the Tenerife Swimrun, both on the same day. The offerings are completed with creative workshops, storytelling sessions, and family shows in various libraries and public spaces throughout the city.
The capital of Tenerife transforms into an epicenter of culture and tradition throughout the month of May, inviting everyone to participate in its foundational festivities.
