Unstable Weather in Tegueste During San Marcos Pilgrimage

The State Meteorological Agency forecasts rain in the early hours of Sunday, with gradual improvement throughout the day.

The Romería de San Marcos Evangelista in Tegueste, scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, will be affected by unstable weather conditions, with a high probability of precipitation during the early morning and first hours of the day.

According to data provided by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the festive day in Tegueste will begin with a 90% chance of rain between 00:00 and 06:00 hours. However, a gradual improvement is expected from the morning onwards.
The probability of precipitation will decrease to 25% between 06:00 and 12:00 hours, and will further reduce to 10% between 12:00 and 18:00 hours. Nevertheless, the risk of rain will increase again to 45% during the late afternoon and evening, which could impact the final events of the celebration.
Temperatures in Tegueste will remain cool throughout the day, ranging between 13 and 17 degrees Celsius. Attendees of the pilgrimage are advised to dress warmly, especially during the early morning hours.
Across the rest of the Canarian archipelago, the general forecast indicates a day without meteorological warnings, featuring cloudy intervals and light rain in the north, mainly during the early morning and late evening. The eastern islands will have a lower probability of precipitation, while in the western islands, such as Tenerife, cloudiness will be more abundant.
Temperatures in the Canary Islands will show little change, with maximums of 25 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 22 degrees Celsius in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The wind will blow moderately from the north, predominantly from the northeast in the western islands.
