This action is part of the corrective maintenance efforts carried out in various municipal facilities. The objective is to optimize their conservation status, ensure suitable conditions for sports practice, and provide a higher quality service to the users of this venue.
Badel Albelo, president of the local OAD, highlighted that the works aim to improve the playing surface, offering safer and more adequate facilities for the numerous athletes who use this pavilion annually, located near the city center.
The municipal councilor explained that, given the parquet's age and the loads it endures during sports activities, it is necessary to implement reinforcements to guarantee the surface's stability, resistance, and safety.
The work will involve brushing and rehabilitating the parquet's surface layer. Additionally, support joists will be repaired and reinforced to ensure adequate base support in the lower crossbeams. Subsequently, the entire support structure of the flooring will be regularized and adapted.
Finally, a comprehensive sanding of the surface will be carried out. This will restore the necessary conditions for applying the official court markings and the specific sports varnishing treatments, thereby ensuring the technical performance, durability, and required safety for the various disciplines practiced at the facility.
