The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued an update indicating a trend towards instability on the island of Tenerife, with particular attention to the municipality of Tegueste, where its traditional Pilgrimage is celebrated this Sunday, April 26.

According to forecasts, the meteorological situation will begin to change from Friday, April 24, with cloudy intervals and the possibility of weak and occasional rainfall in the northern and eastern mid-slopes of the island during the afternoon. Additionally, winds are expected to blow moderately to strongly south of the dorsal ridge by the end of the day.
Uncertainty increases for the weekend. Aemet's models for Tegueste indicate a 70% probability of rain during Saturday morning, which will decrease to 50% in the second half of the day. For Sunday, April 26, the day of the Pilgrimage, the risk of precipitation could reach 75% in the early hours, reducing to 60% from midday onwards.
Regarding temperatures, a cool environment is expected in the municipality. On Saturday, thermometers will range between a minimum of 13°C and a maximum of 19°C, while on Sunday, a slight decrease is anticipated, with values between 12°C and 18°C.
In the rest of Tenerife, on Saturday, April 25, cloudy skies will prevail in the north, with weak rains, especially in the early and late hours. In inland areas, evolving cloudiness is not ruled out in the afternoon with occasional rains. Maximum temperatures will experience a significant drop in mid-slopes and high areas.
On Sunday, April 26, cloudiness will be widespread, especially in northern Tenerife. Aemet anticipates weak rains, which will be more frequent in the mid-slopes during the second half of the day. On the southern slopes of the mountainous islands, precipitation will be less likely and more occasional. The wind will blow moderately from the northeast, with strong gusts on the southeastern and northwestern slopes of Tenerife.
