The Government of the Canary Islands has committed practically all of the 1,448 million euros from the Canary Islands-State Road Agreement 2018-2027, leading to a request for an extension of the agreement.

The Minister of Public Works, Housing, and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, Pablo Rodríguez, along with the Director General of Road Infrastructure, Rosana Melián, participated in a meeting of the Bilateral Commission for Programming, Monitoring, and Control of the Canary Islands-State Road Agreement 2018-2027. The Ministry has committed almost all of the 1,448 million euros allocated to this agreement.
Due to the near-complete utilization of funds, the minister has requested an extension of this agreement. The aim is to incorporate additional funding that will allow for the tendering of initiatives for which projects have already been drafted.
It is worth remembering that the so-called ‘Canary Islands Decree’, promoted by the previous Executive led by Fernando Clavijo, includes a provision of an additional 204 million euros. These funds are intended to finance the Road Agreement between the years 2026 and 2030.
