The Canary Agency for Research, Innovation, and Information Society (ACIISI), under the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation, and Culture, has established key policies and programs to strengthen the knowledge ecosystem, drive innovation and technological development, and advance the digital transformation of the Canary Islands. This Action Plan serves as ACIISI's roadmap for the current year, addressing major socioeconomic challenges through science and information.
Strategic priorities include fostering R&D+i, attracting and retaining scientific talent, strengthening the innovative business fabric, transferring knowledge from research centers to the productive sector, and enhancing digital skills, connectivity, and infrastructure.
The program is organized into several blocks: R&D and Talent, focusing on research, development, and the recruitment of researchers; Innovation and Business Competitiveness, offering incentives for SMEs in technology and R&D projects; Information Society, aimed at digital literacy, technological inclusion, and connectivity; and Networks and Territorial Dynamization, supporting scientific and technological infrastructure and fostering collaboration networks between research and businesses across the islands.
The full document is accessible on the ACIISI website. The agency will further disseminate its action lines through dedicated content, providing detailed insights into initiatives, calls for proposals, and their impact on research, talent, business innovation, and digital transformation.
Through this planning, the Government of the Canary Islands reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development based on knowledge, positioning research, development, innovation, and digitalization as cross-cutting elements for the competitiveness and social well-being of the archipelago.
