The call for applications, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, aims to strengthen the innovative capacity and competitiveness of the Archipelago's business fabric. The grants will fully finance projects developed by a single cluster as well as initiatives carried out in collaboration with member companies and entities.
As a new feature, this call will also support the preparation of proposals for national and European funding programs. This measure will enable clusters to plan larger-scale projects and access new competitive financing opportunities, according to Migdalia Machín, Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation, and Culture.
The call includes two types of actions: projects promoted by the innovative business grouping itself and projects developed in cooperation with one to five entities belonging to the cluster. In both cases, the aid will cover 100% of the eligible expenses, with amounts ranging from €10,000 to €75,000, depending on the type of action.
Migdalia Machín emphasized the strategic role of clusters in facilitating collaboration between companies and knowledge centers, stating that strengthening this cooperation creates better conditions for ideas to transform into projects with economic and social impact for the Canary Islands.
Innovative Business Groupings or clusters that meet the regulatory requirements may apply for these grants. The application period will be open from October 1 to 31, 2026, unless available funds are exhausted earlier. Applications must be submitted electronically through the Government of the Canary Islands portal.
