High-tech products, originating from sectors with high investment in research and development (R&D) such as pharmaceuticals, IT, or aeronautics, saw a 19.4% drop in imports. Their value decreased from 667 million euros in 2025 to 538 million in 2026.
This data is part of the Foreign Trade Statistics by Technological Content, published quarterly by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).
Furthermore, the value of industrial product exports as a whole also decreased by 19.2% compared to the second quarter of 2025, amounting to 748 million euros. However, this figure represents a 20.8% increase compared to the first quarter of the current year.
