The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands has published the order establishing the guidelines and timeline for preparing the upcoming regional accounts. Under these regulations, the draft budget bill must be submitted to the Canarian Parliament by November 1st, requiring the administration to define revenue and expenditure structures in advance.
The process requires various ministries, autonomous bodies, and public entities to submit their forecasts to the Directorate General for Planning and Budget. The goal is to ensure budgetary stability, financial sustainability, and efficiency in the use of public resources.
The regional executive has emphasized that the accounts will maintain the focus of previous years, centering efforts on social welfare. Healthcare, dependency care, social services, education, and housing remain the fundamental pillars of the planned investment.
In addition to basic services, the budget will seek to drive the transformation of the Islands' economic model, promoting quality job creation and added value. Strategic actions in areas such as energy, digitalization, and the environment are also included.
