After a period of pleasant temperatures, the Canary archipelago is preparing for a significant change in the weather. AEMET has detailed that next week will be marked by mostly cloudy skies, with a low probability of light precipitation, which will be more likely and occasional on the central islands.
For Tuesday, widespread cloudy intervals are expected, with a higher concentration of clouds in inland areas and the eastern slopes of the higher islands. In these areas, occasional precipitation is likely, although light in nature. Temperatures will remain stable, without major variations, and strong winds are forecast on the peaks of Tenerife.
On Wednesday, the forecast indicates mostly clear skies with developing clouds in the afternoon on the eastern side of the islands and, to a lesser extent, in the north, where the trend will be towards cloudy skies. Light and scattered precipitation cannot be ruled out in these areas. The week of May 11th to 17th is shaping up to be colder than usual for this time of year across much of the country.

Regarding the eastern islands, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience mostly clear skies with intervals of high clouds and some low clouds in the early hours, as well as developing clouds in the east in the afternoon. In Gran Canaria, cloudy intervals are expected, with prevailing overcast skies during the central hours and the afternoon. Light and scattered precipitation cannot be ruled out, being more likely in inland areas of the northeast. Temperatures will remain unchanged or show a slight drop in minimums in inland areas. The wind will be light from the north with a sea breeze regime.
For Tenerife, cloudy skies are forecast with probable occasional light precipitation, clearing up in the late hours, while the high peaks will remain clear. Temperatures will not vary or will experience a slight drop in maximums on the northern and western slopes. The wind will be light and variable, with a predominance of sea breezes, and strong from the southwest on the central peaks, with occasionally very strong gusts.
In La Gomera, there will be cloudy intervals, with prevailing overcast skies during the central hours, especially in the north and east, where occasional light precipitation is likely. Temperatures will show little change, except for a slight drop in maximums on the eastern slopes. The wind will be light from the north with a sea breeze regime.
Finally, in La Palma, cloudy intervals are expected, with prevailing overcast skies during the central hours and the afternoon, especially in the north and east, where precipitation could be light or locally moderate.
