The Parliament of the Canary Islands held an institutional concert on Tuesday night in the Hall of Honor to mark the Day of Canarias, an event that merged culture, citizen participation, and Canarian identity.

The recital featured performances by tenor Pancho Corujo, soprano Carmen Acosta, and pianist Javier Laso, who presented a repertoire combining emblematic pieces of Canarian music with great classics of international opera.
The President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez, emphasized the importance of "opening the doors of Parliament to music, culture, and our traditions with the citizens," calling it a way to celebrate the identity of the Canarian people.
The performance began with 'Siete Rosas,' by Los Huaracheros and Alfredo González Santamaría, in an intimate and participatory atmosphere, as Parliament opened the doors of the Hall of Honor for citizens to enjoy the concert alongside deputies.
The program continued with renowned works from the international operatic repertoire, including 'Mattinata' by Leoncavallo; 'Quando m’en vo' from 'La Bohème' by Puccini; 'La donna è mobile' from 'Rigoletto' by Verdi; 'Casta Diva' from 'Norma' by Bellini; 'Nessun dorma' from 'Turandot' by Puccini; and 'O mio babbino caro' from 'Gianni Schicchi,' also by Puccini.
Throughout the evening, the facade of the Parliament of the Canary Islands was illuminated in the colors of the Canary Islands flag, adding to the commemorative and festive ambiance of an event dedicated to the identity and culture of the archipelago.
This celebration is part of the events organized by the Parliament of the Canary Islands for the Day of Canarias, a date dedicated to valuing the identity, culture, and sense of belonging of the Canarian people.
