Carlos Enrique Viña Romero was sworn in this Friday as the new president of the Canary Islands Bar Associations Council, during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Illustrious Bar Association of Las Palmas. The dean of the Lanzarote Bar Association succeeds Juan Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, who led the institution for the past term.
In his speech, Viña Romero advocated for the essential role of the legal profession in society and the rule of law, highlighting its importance in guaranteeing the right to defense, legal certainty, and access to justice. Additionally, María del Pilar Rodríguez Martín was elected as the treasurer of the Council.
