Emergency services have controlled a fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon near the Molinos de Bellido route in Santa Cruz de La Palma.

The blaze originated in the vicinity of a well-known island trail, the Molinos de Bellido, located in the Barranco del Agua, an area with forest remnants. The alert was received at 4:34 PM, quickly mobilizing firefighting and security teams.
The control and extinction efforts involved firefighters from La Palma, the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), the National Police, Local Police, and the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC). A GES helicopter and an SUC ambulance were deployed preventively.
Authorities and security forces are investigating the exact causes of the fire and the extent of the area affected by the flames in the ravine.
