The new platform, named Gestiona and developed by the specialized company esPublico, is an electronic administration solution already operating in various areas of the Government of Canarias. Its main objective is to progressively replace paper-based processing with a unified digital environment, centralizing document management, electronic files, public procurement, human resources, notifications, and incoming and outgoing records.
“"Gestur Canarias is taking advantage of the current moment of growth and transformation, expanding its scope of action and consolidating its presence throughout the Archipelago, after almost half a century of operation."
According to Agoney Piñero, CEO of the entity, the incorporation of these digital tools is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Gestur Canarias as an integral part of the autonomous government and local councils in the Canary Islands, enabling it to undertake new projects and lines of work.
The platform is designed to be interoperable with other systems, facilitating information exchange and streamlining administrative procedures. It also incorporates task automation tools and workflow modules, as well as internal control modules that enhance security and administrative activity monitoring.
A key component of the system is the creation of an electronic headquarters, which will function as a virtual office available 24 hours a day. From this headquarters, citizens and companies will be able to carry out procedures with Gestur Canarias telematically, eliminating the need for physical travel.
This solution is already implemented in more than 7,300 public administrations in Spain, which underscores its reliability and consolidated use. Its adoption also ensures compliance with Law 39/2015 on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, as well as the requirements of the National Security Scheme (ENS) and the National Interoperability Scheme (ENI).
The digitalization of procedures will lead to a significant reduction in paper use and the simplification of processes, speeding up response times, especially in procedures requiring multiple signatures, which will now be managed electronically. This change will impact all areas of the entity, from management to human resources, replacing manual processes with digital workflows. The implementation will be carried out in phases, including staff training, to ensure progressive adoption without disrupting normal operations.
