For many years, Vocational Training was perceived as a secondary option, a view that no longer reflects reality. In the most advanced countries, VET is a primary choice for talent development. With the new VET Law and the advent of digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI), this sector is undergoing a profound transformation in Spain and, particularly, in the Canary Islands.

The model proposed by ICSE focuses on a Dual VET where the company is not just a place for internships, but an active educational agent from the outset. Students do not merely observe; they perform real, planned, and assessable professional tasks, aligned with the demands of the labor market.

This approach moves away from evaluation based exclusively on theoretical exams, replacing it with professional evidence. Students demonstrate their skills through real projects, technical solutions, and reports, presented before a mixed jury of teachers and industry professionals. This system values not only knowledge but also autonomy, problem-solving ability, and professional maturity.

AI is incorporated as an educational tool, under teacher supervision, to simulate professional situations and provide personalized feedback, without replacing personal effort or human evaluation. The model is adapted to the Canarian context, working with SMEs and strategic sectors of the archipelago, aiming to retain local talent and improve business competitiveness. The first cycles implemented include IT, administration, marketing, and tourism.

ICSE advocates that Vocational Training is Professional Higher Education, a high-value option for building solid career paths open to academic continuity. The goal is to change social perception and elevate the reputation of VET, showcasing demanding, innovative training fully connected to employment, contributing to the educational and productive development of the Canary Islands.
