More than 2,500 candidates have submitted their applications to compete for one of the 150 available positions in the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police, as reported by the Directorate General of Studies, Training, and Public Security Research.

Following the closure of the application period for the selection tests through the general free access system, the process now moves into the phase of checking and reviewing the documentation submitted by the applicants. The call for applications, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), outlines the specific requirements for filling the basic scale positions (Group C, Subgroup C1).
The selection tests have been announced by the Presidency Department, through the Directorate General of Studies, Training, and Public Security Research, as part of the 2024 Public Employment Offer. The selection process involves various stages and requirements, including theoretical, physical, and psychotechnical tests, in addition to meeting the conditions stipulated in the call for applications.
The Governing Council approved in November 2024 the largest Public Employment Offer (OPE) in the history of the Corps since its creation in 2010. This expansion, to be implemented over three years, also includes an increase in the Catalogue of Positions to support the continued growth of the Regional Police.
