A total of 1,646 candidates took the intermediate-level exams and 2,037 for the higher level. These exams, managed by the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education, are designed to provide an entry route for those who do not meet direct academic requirements.
The administration of these tests across all islands, and not just the capital ones, has been a key factor. This measure allows any resident of the archipelago, regardless of their place of residence, to continue their studies and access new qualification and employment opportunities, as reported by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports.
“"Holding the tests on all islands is of great importance as it allows anyone in the archipelago, regardless of their place of residence, to continue their studies and thus enjoy new opportunities for qualification and employment."
The certificates obtained after passing these exams are valid throughout the national territory and do not expire, providing permanent accreditation for access to Vocational Training. The call is characterized by its open nature, attracting not only island residents but also people from other parts of the country and foreign citizens seeking to improve their qualifications in the archipelago.
Furthermore, next Thursday, the ordinary call exams for access to intermediate and higher-level Plastic Arts and Design training cycles will take place. These will be held at the art schools in Fuerteventura, Manolo Blahnik in La Palma, and Pancho Lasso in Lanzarote, as well as at the art and higher design schools (EASD) in Gran Canaria and Fernando Estévez in Tenerife, offering a similar opportunity to those without direct academic requirements. A specific test will also be held for those opting for this route.
Regarding Special Regime Sports Education, specific entrance exams will run until May 15, depending on the specialty or sport chosen by the interested individual.
