UD Taburiente from Gran Canaria failed to reach the final of the Queen's Cup field hockey, after a narrow 2-1 defeat against Club de Campo Villa de Madrid in a highly contested match.

The match, held this Saturday, was marked by intensity from the opening whistle. Although the Madrid team took the initiative in play and exerted strong pressure, the Gran Canaria team showed solid defense and great commitment in every action.
Club de Campo took the lead, but UD Taburiente's reaction was immediate, achieving an equalizer before halftime. This goal reflected the collective effort and kept the team fully in contention for a place in the final.
The second half maintained parity, with the Madrid team seeking a goal and UD Taburiente defending with discipline and waiting for their opportunities. The decisive 2-1 came after a well-executed play by the Madrid players, forcing the islanders to step up their attack in the final minutes.

The yellow team tried until the last second. In the final moments, they had a penalty corner to force extra time, but the opposing goalkeeper managed to stop the action and prevent the equalizer.

Despite the defeat, UD Taburiente showed a very competitive image against one of the strongest teams in the national scene, demonstrating character and ability to compete at the highest level.
The team will have little time for regrets, as this Sunday they will face Egara in the match for third and fourth place, with the aim of closing their participation in the Queen's Cup by reaching the podium.
