Unstable weather conditions continue to affect the Canary Islands, with Aemet maintaining the alerts that have characterized recent days. Maximum wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour are expected, especially in the peaks and slopes exposed to the northeast flow. The maritime situation also presents risks, with waves that could reach 5 meters in the eastern islands and force 7 winds in the channels between islands.
In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the northeast wind will continue to blow intensely, particularly in inland areas and on the Jandía peninsula. Maximum temperatures will experience a slight rise, reaching 21°C in Arrecife and Puerto del Rosario. Meanwhile, in Gran Canaria, the yellow alert remains in the peaks and on the southeast and west slopes, with cloudy skies in the north and a moderate rise in temperatures in the mid-altitude areas of the southwest.
The island of Tenerife also maintains a wind risk in the northwest, the southeast slope, and the Cordillera Dorsal. While the north of the island could experience occasional rain, the south will enjoy clear skies and maximums of up to 22°C in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro, the persistence of the northeast wind requires caution in peaks and northwest and southeast slopes, with stable minimum temperatures and slight increases in maximums in mid-altitude areas.
Meteorological models indicate that the alert situation will not subside immediately. Aemet has confirmed that wind and coastal phenomena warnings will extend, in principle, until 9:00 AM on Tuesday in islands such as Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote. It is advised to exercise extreme caution in coastal and peak areas due to the continuation of these adverse conditions.
