In 2025, the hospital was a finalist in the categories of best high-complexity hospital and best Rheumatology service. The hospital's Management Directorate serves residents over fourteen years old from the north-central part of the island and the northern zone of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and is a reference center for Lanzarote and the province of Las Palmas in various specialties.
At the autonomous community level of the Canary Islands, the Doctor Negrín Hospital is a reference for transplants (bone marrow, cardiac, pulmonary), congenital heart disease surgery, deep brain stimulation, molecular biology, radiotherapy with Cyberknife, and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment. Additionally, 29 services hold quality certifications, and the hospital was a pioneer in receiving the BPSO recognition (Best Practice Guidelines) as a center committed to excellence in care.
