This initiative allows for the improvement and reintegration of a space with a strong connection to motorsport, reinforcing its potential as a sporting, tourist, and promotional resource for the municipality.
The mayor of Villa de Mazo and Councilor for Sports, Idafe Hernández, emphasized the opportunity this presents for the municipality to reposition this enclave in motor sports. The goal is to highlight the value of the territory and increase the appeal of La Salemera for both residents and visitors.
"The recovery of stages 5 and 8 represents a new step in the municipal strategy of promoting sports as a tool for dynamization and enhancing the value of Villa de Mazo's spaces," stated the mayor. He added that the municipal government will continue to promote initiatives that harmonize sports activities with tourism promotion, respect for the natural environment, and citizen coexistence.
Hernández expressed his gratitude to the Escudería Isla Bonita for their collaboration, as well as to the drivers from Villa de Mazo. "Their presence helps keep the municipality linked to the various motorsport events held on the island," he noted.
The council highlighted the responsible behavior of the fans who followed the events. A call was made to maintain this attitude, respecting safety instructions, the natural environment, and coexistence with local residents at all times.
