From May 7th to 10th, the streets and square of Antigua will be transformed into a showcase of traditional Canarian craftsmanship. The fair will feature artisans representing some thirty trades, offering live demonstrations and the opportunity to purchase unique pieces.

The fair's program includes free workshops on basketry, leatherwork, ceramics, and macramé, designed for family participation. Additionally, the event will be enlivened by musical performances from renowned groups such as Taburiente, Los Cantadores, Sirinoke Band, and La Banda del Cuco, providing musical entertainment throughout the four-day celebration.

The official inauguration will take place on Thursday afternoon, marking the start of activities that will culminate on Sunday with the presentation of the 2026 Island Craft Award to jeweler Bernhard Glauser. To facilitate attendance, free bus services will be available from Caleta de Fuste on May 8th, 9th, and 10th, with multiple return times aimed at ensuring both residents and visitors can attend.

The organization, managed by the Colectivo Mafasca Foundation and the Antigua Town Council, has implemented several improvements for this 2026 edition. New features include an expanded venue with four additional tents, more shaded areas, improved accessibility along the routes, and a food market area with over 30 stalls offering local products. The institutional stand of Antigua will feature audiovisual content about the municipality's history, establishing itself as a key informational and cultural point within the event.

The XXXVII Island Craft Fair has an approximate budget of 300,000 euros, allocated to cover setup, venue conditioning, service contracting, and program scheduling. The Antigua Town Council assumes the majority of the funding, while the Cabildo de Fuerteventura contributes 100,000 euros, reaffirming its support for the promotion and commercialization of island crafts.
