The Firgas Town Council is assessing the feasibility of rehabilitating the old Doramas inn, a historic tourist spot in Montaña de Firgas, which has been disused for years and has attracted interest from several investors.

The Firgas Town Council is currently in the analysis phase to initiate procedures for the rehabilitation and reopening of the Doramas inn. This location, situated in Montaña de Firgas, has historically been a landmark in the northern municipality, known for its privileged views and the surrounding natural landscape.
Mayor Alexis Henríquez has confirmed meetings with the Cabildo's Department of Tourism to address this issue. He also noted that several investors have expressed to the Council their willingness to undertake the restoration of this emblematic site, which has been in a state of profound abandonment for years.

"We are requesting some reports because it has been out of use for several years, and we are looking for approval to get it running again."

The mayor added that the Cabildo's Tourism and Environment departments have indicated to the Firgas governing group the possibility of reactivating activity at the site. Currently, access is restricted by a barrier about 600 meters away, due to the advanced deterioration of the area, which has suffered numerous acts of vandalism.
The inn's history includes a land transfer from the Town Council to the Cabildo for the construction of a parador and later a hostel. After its establishment, management was awarded to a company, but poor administration led to its closure. More than a decade ago, under Mayor Manuel Báez, the Town Council regained ownership with the intention of rehabilitating the infrastructure. However, despite the tenure of several mayors and governing groups, its operational launch has not yet materialized.
At one point, the parador was part of the Cabildo's network of inns, offering a hotel complex with about 80 beds and a restaurant that hosted events and celebrations. Since 2013, with fluctuations in the relationship between local and island institutions, the Firgas parador has been closed, and its reactivation is seen as a complex process to recover one of the main tourist attractions of the town.
