Lo Blanco celebrates its festivals with traffic diversions and pilgrimage

The neighborhood of Lo Blanco, in Teror, culminates its patron saint festivals this weekend in honor of San Antonio Mª Claret with the Romería Ofrenda and procession, which will involve traffic diversions on the GC-211.

The neighborhood of Lo Blanco is celebrating its patron saint festivals in honor of San Antonio Mª Claret this weekend. The program includes the Romería Ofrenda (Offering Pilgrimage) this Saturday, August 15th, starting at 7:30 PM, followed by a street party with ‘Star Music’ and ‘Dj Promaster’. On Sunday, August 16th, the day will begin with the Canary Birdkeeping Exhibition and Livestock Show at 10:00 AM, and in the afternoon, starting at 7:00 PM, a religious service and procession will be held.
Due to these events, mobile traffic diversions will be in place on the main road GC-211, in the stretch between La Cruz and El Cruce de Lo Blanco. These diversions will be active on Saturday, August 15th, from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, and on Sunday, August 16th, from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, to ensure the safety of participants and drivers.
The festive program, organized by the San Valeriano Neighbors Association with the collaboration of the Teror City Council, through the Neighborhoods area led by Manuel Farías, also featured a performance by Elías Uche this past Friday, August 14th.
The patron saint festivals in Lo Blanco began on July 30th with the opening speech by the official chronicler of the island of Gran Canaria and of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Juan José Laforet. This year, the neighborhood also commemorated the 50th anniversary of the San Valeriano Neighbors Association, highlighting the history and identity of the area.
