Despite the fleet's efforts, which moved to the La Laja tunnel area in search of better winds, the intensity barely exceeded five knots at the start. This situation made it impossible to hold the race, compromising both the safety and sporting integrity of the competition.
The decision to postpone the day was made by the Race Committee after evaluating the weather evolution and the actual conditions on the race course. This postponement adds pressure to the 2026 season calendar, which is already tight.
The suspended day included clashes between several prominent boats, such as Viajes Insular Arenales Canaluz against Disa Roque Nublo ULPGC, Porteño Siscocan against Unión San Cristóbal Restaurante Los Botes, and Villa de Teror Munchitos against Portuarios Puertos de Las Palmas. Also scheduled were the races between Spar Guerra del Río and Villa de Agüimes Ybarra, as well as the duel between Minerva Idamar Atlantic and Chacalote Comercial Sanrob. Hospital La Paloma Pueblo Guanche had a rest day.
Attention now turns to the third day of the championship, scheduled for this Sunday. However, weather forecasts continue to be unfavorable for sailing. In anticipation of a possible new postponement, the Federation has preventively suspended the security arrangements for monitoring the race from land, seeking to avoid unnecessary organizational costs until there is certainty about the event's celebration. The final decision will be made in the coming hours, depending on weather conditions.
