The event, held in Valsequillo de Gran Canaria, once again established itself as an important meeting point between the agricultural sector and the public. Despite the high temperatures, the flow of visitors was constant, demonstrating interest in zero-kilometer products.
Local farmers and various stalls offered a wide variety of fresh produce, with over 7,000 kilograms of potatoes and approximately 400 trays of corn on the cob being sold. An additional attraction was the stalls where corn cobs were roasted on the spot, delighting attendees with their aroma and flavor.
However, not all usual products were present in the same quantity. Strawberries, which had been a highlight in previous editions, had minimal presence due to heavy rains in recent months, which significantly affected their harvest. For this reason, their specific day has been postponed until next May.
“"The farmers' hope was that history would repeat itself and, as in previous years, the potatoes and corn would fly off the shelves before noon."
From early morning, with stalls brimming with fresh produce, farmers shared the expectation that demand would be as high as in past editions, where stocks quickly sold out.
