The celebrations in Teror, which began on August 21st, reach their peak with a packed agenda of events starting September 4th. The Villa Mariana prepares to welcome thousands of people for an island-wide gathering culminating on September 7th and 8th with the traditional Romería-Ofrenda (Pilgrimage-Offering) and the Day of Our Lady of the Pine.
Saturday, September 5th, stands out with the Descent of the Image of the Virgin at 8:00 PM, following the Holy Rosary and Eucharist. The night will continue at the Plaza de Sintes with tributes to Manuel Carrasco (by Samuel Tosso), a performance by Nena Daconte, and music from Miss Music Band and Aitamy Dj, blending devotion with a festive atmosphere.
Sunday, September 6th, will be marked by religious devotion with several Eucharists at the Basílica del Pino. In the afternoon, the Parque de Sintes will host the concert by Que Chimba, while the Plaza de Sintes will be the stage for the 34th Gran Canaria Folklore Encounter, featuring groups from various islands, and the 'verbena' (street party) La Previa with La Combinación.
Monday, September 7th, is one of the key days with the Romería-Ofrenda to Our Lady of the Pine at 3:30 PM, starting from Castañero Gordo. This event, which will be broadcast live by RTVC and TVE, will feature floats and groups from all eight Canary Islands, showcasing Canarian tradition. The evening will include the Vigil Verbena and a fireworks display.
Tuesday, September 8th, the Day of Our Lady of the Pine, the main day of the festivities, will feature Eucharists, the official reception of authorities, the Solemn Eucharist, and the Procession. The popular program will conclude with a concert by Seguridad Social in the Plaza de Sintes.
The festivities continue after the main day with the Solemn Novena until September 16th. The musical agenda includes tributes to Queen (Symphonic Rhapsody of Queen) on September 9th and a performance by Cali & El Dandee on September 10th. The weekend of September 11th and 12th will bring more Tardeos del Pino, the 37th Encuentro Teresa de Bolívar with artists like Lila Downs, and tributes to Melendi.
Sunday, September 13th, is the Day of Las Marías, with Eucharists, a procession, and fireworks. The festivities will extend until the end of the month with events such as the presentation of Honors and Distinctions on September 17th, concerts and 'verbenas', the 16th El Pino Weightlifting Championship, and the 45th Rallye Villa de Teror on September 25th and 26th.
