Thousands of people packed the town center of Valleseco this Sunday to enjoy the 4th Regional Cider Fair of the Canary Islands and the Hard-Boiled Egg Festival, an event that highlights the role of women in the sector.

The locality of Valleseco became a meeting point this Sunday for thousands of people arriving from various parts of Gran Canaria, as well as visitors from Asturias and the Basque Country, who attended the 4th Regional Cider Fair of the Canary Islands and the Hard-Boiled Egg Festival.
This edition of the cider fair placed special emphasis on the fundamental role that women play in the growth, innovation, and consolidation of the cider sector in the Canary Islands. An increasing number of women are leading business projects, driving new innovation lines, and bringing a modern and sustainable vision to the production, commercialization, promotion, and transformation of cider.
The day unfolded in a festive, family-friendly, and crowded atmosphere, with cider, zero-kilometer gastronomy, and popular traditions as the main protagonists. The fairgrounds and the San Vicente Ferrer square registered a constant influx of visitors, leading to numerous products selling out before 2:00 PM.
The more than 1,500 'pinchos' (tapas), prepared by restaurants and bars in the municipality and served by students from the IES Bañaderos, were completely consumed before mid-afternoon.
Cider was the main focus of the event. Sidra Tuscany experienced constant demand, while El Lagar de Valleseco, with over 25 national and international awards, reaffirmed its prestige. The flavored ciders with fig, kiwi, or lemon from Valle Secreto also attracted attention for their innovation.
A notable phenomenon of this edition was the vermouth made from cider by Sidras Fierro, known as Sidermut. The 200 bottles intended for the fair were sold out during the event.
Regional representation was expanded with ciders from Tenerife and La Palma, including productions from Castro & Magán and Sidra La Mirla.
