The Suelta del Perro Maldito, a magical and emotional night held during the San Miguel Arcángel festivities, reaches its 40th edition on Monday, September 28th, at 00:00. This street theater spectacle in the town center promises to be special and different, featuring multiple novelties and a script titled 'El poder del caos'.
This year, the Valsequillo City Council has taken over the organization, promoting assembly-based decisions to involve the entire community. Various commissions (script, costumes, infrastructure, makeup) have been established, receiving an exceptional response with around 250 participants aged between 8 and 70.
The scenography will undergo a 'brutal' change, with a massive stage in the Plaza de San Miguel set to surprise attendees. Installation begins this Tuesday, allowing for exploration of the space's scenic possibilities. Attendees are advised against wearing elegant attire, recommending comfortable, non-new clothing, as 'we cannot guarantee how you will emerge'.

The origin of this popular festival dates back to the image of San Miguel Arcángel, sculpted by Luján Pérez (1804), which depicts Saint Michael the Archangel with a dog at his feet instead of a dragon. Tradition holds that on Saint Michael's night, the devil transforms into a dog and breaks free from its chains, initiating the battle between good and evil.
The Cronista Oficial Jacinto Suárez Martel Theater serves as the central hub for rehearsals, and the installation of the main infrastructure has already begun. The organization conveys a message of 'emotion and impact' for this 40th amateur edition.
