A medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) has transferred a man seriously injured after accidentally falling from the roof of a house in the municipality of El Tanque, on the island of Tenerife.
The incident occurred around eleven in the morning last Saturday. The affected person remained unconscious after the fall. The SUC coordinating doctor, after receiving information from the callers, provided instructions for first aid until the arrival of the activated health resources.
Given the severity of the incident and the distance to the reference hospital, an SUC medical helicopter was assigned. It arrived along with a sanitary ambulance carrying a doctor from the Icod de Los Vinos Health Center.
The doctor from the health center and the SUC nurse provided initial assistance to the injured man, who had sustained severe head trauma, until the arrival of the sanitary aircraft. After landing in a nearby location, the helicopter crew was transported by firefighters to the incident site to assist in stabilizing the injured person.
Subsequently, the injured man was transferred by the sanitary ambulance, accompanied by the helicopter's medical team, to the aircraft for urgent evacuation to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands, where he was admitted in serious condition.
