This initiative, coordinated by the island's Health Services Management and attached to the Canary Islands Government's Health Department, aims to improve care for residents in this area, who represent sixty percent of the island's population.
The office will allow the same procedures to be carried out as at the main office of the Valverde Health Area, thus avoiding unnecessary travel to the capital of El Hierro. Among the services offered is the processing of travel vouchers for patients and their families who need to travel to other islands for clinical reasons.
The new user support point is located in the courtyard of the Valle de El Golfo Health Center, separating administrative processing from the healthcare services provided by the Primary Care health center.
“"We make it easier for residents in this Basic Health Zone to carry out their procedures more comfortably and nearby, without having to travel to the main headquarters of the Health Area in Valverde, as many procedures require official registration and must be done in person."
The director of the El Hierro Health Area highlighted that this measure brings services closer to citizens, making the management of essential administrative procedures more accessible.
