The deputy mayor and councilor for Festivals of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, has congratulated the Tinasoria neighborhood's Festival Commission for the development of the celebrations in honor of San Genaro. The events, held at the Estrella MachÃn Municipal Sports Court, have gathered a large audience of all ages.
Eugenio highlighted the figure of Melquiades GarcÃa Montelongo, considered the soul of these festivals and the driving force behind the neighborhood's community activity. "The figure of Melquiades GarcÃa Montelongo has been present at all times thanks to the participation and affection shown by all the residents of Tinasoria, who have kept his memory and commitment to the neighborhood alive," stated the councilor.
Among the events in the final stretch of the celebrations were the Drag Queen Gala and the Miss Tinasoria Election. The title of Miss Tinasoria went to Keira FrÃas Guadalupe, who also received the Miss Popularity and Miss Sympathy distinctions. Meanwhile, Irune FrÃas Guadalupe was proclaimed Queen of the Festivals and Miss Elegance.
Nikol Ainara Lozada and Andrea del Pino Reyes were chosen as 1st Finalist for Miss Tinasoria and Queen of the Festivals, respectively. Aissatu Balde and Zaira RodrÃguez Guadalupe were chosen as 2nd Finalists in both categories.
To conclude, the Water Verbena was held for children, who also enjoyed various games and a playback. Adults also had their space with similar activities. The program also included traditional music groups, evening dances, Canarian bowling, musical galas, and dance exhibitions, among other activities.
