The Arrecife City Council has launched an initiative to beautify neighborhoods with an investment of 231,668.10 euros for the acquisition of new urban furniture and green spaces.

The Arrecife City Council will allocate nearly 250,000 euros to enhance the urban image of its neighborhoods by installing new urban furniture and creating more green areas. This action complements the upcoming construction of five eco-boulevards.
The plans, promoted by Mayor Yonathan de León, include the transformation of several streets and the provision of new landscaped areas. The first eco-boulevards, with an investment exceeding 15 million euros as part of the Municipal Investment Plan 2026/27 (totaling nearly 40 million euros), will be tendered this autumn.
In parallel, the Department of Parks and Gardens, led by Second Deputy Mayor Roberto Herbón, has launched an official tender for the acquisition of "urban furniture, aggregates, substrates, and plants," divided into two lots, with an investment of 231,668.10 euros. Interested companies have until November 23rd to submit their proposals.
The technical specifications outline the design for urban furniture, including benches, planters, and bins, to maintain a consistent style throughout the city. Lot 1 covers the supply and installation of this furniture in streets and squares detailed in the tender. Lot 2 will focus on the transport and placement of new trees, plants, and their substrates to provide shade in the neighborhoods.
Mayor Yonathan de León highlighted that this award will complement the creation of the first eco-boulevards and new children's parks and gardens in neighborhoods such as Maneje, San Francisco Javier, La Vega, and Valterra.
For his part, Roberto Herbón emphasized that the tender will contribute to increasing green spaces in Arrecife, anticipating a positive transformation in the capital in the coming months due to ongoing projects.
