The Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Social Welfare, Equality, and Immigration, reminds that women victims of gender violence have a free municipal service available to change their home locks and reinforce their protection.

This service, managed by the Equality Area and developed in coordination with the Local Police, aims to provide a concrete response so that women feel safer in their homes. Councilor Maite Corujo has emphasized the importance of publicizing this resource, as it has been detected that not all potential beneficiaries are aware of its existence.
The initiative is aimed at women victims of gender violence residing in Arrecife who have a current protection order, such as a protection order or a restraining order. The service also includes the protection of their family unit.
To access this aid, interested individuals must contact the Local Police of Arrecife, either by calling 928 811 317 or by visiting their premises at Avenida Vargas, number 4. Once the request is received, the Local Police activate the service and coordinate with the assigned company to carry out the home intervention within the first 24 hours.
Maite Corujo stresses the importance of this information reaching all women who may need it, assuring that the information is handled with complete confidentiality and in accordance with data protection regulations. The goal is that no woman who meets the requirements misses out on this service due to lack of knowledge.
In case of emergency or immediate risk, the importance of calling 112 is recalled.
