'Creciendo Yaiza' workshops are coming to Arrecife this September, aiming to fill the capital's neighborhoods with art, inclusion, and tradition. This initiative, driven by a social association, will offer classes in music, Canary dance, comics, and podcasts. These community projects are made possible with financial backing from the Culture Department of the Arrecife City Council.
The Culture Department, led by councilwoman Abigail González, continues to actively promote projects developed by various social groups. The cultural grant call serves as a fundamental tool for neighborhood development. Abigail González highlighted that the 180,000 euros allocated to this initiative enable vital actions for social inclusion and guarantee equal opportunities for minors and young people with special needs in all aspects of life.
The program is divided into two main creative blocks. The ‘Los Desiguales’ (Comic and Podcast) workshop will be held on the afternoon of this Friday, September 18, at the Tinasoria Sociocultural Center, aiming to introduce participants to creating stories and audio content from an inclusive perspective. The Music and Canary Dance workshop will take place next Friday, September 25, at the association's headquarters, located at Calle La Gaviota, number 4, allowing attendees to connect with local traditions through learning and practicing folklore to foster community cohesion.
