The National Police have arrested two young people, aged 19 and 21, in Arrecife for their alleged involvement in six counts of forceful robbery at businesses in the Lanzarote capital during the early mornings of March and April.

The investigated incidents took place during the early mornings of March and April. The now-detained individuals allegedly carried out up to six forceful robberies at commercial establishments in the central area of Arrecife. The investigation confirmed that the alleged perpetrators acted fully masked and used large stones found nearby to break the glass access to the premises. They even entered the same establishment located on the city's promenade up to three times.
Given the high incidence of this type of criminal activity, the National Police established a preventive operation that led to the identification of the alleged perpetrators. Subsequently, after analyzing surveillance camera footage, investigators were able to confirm the alleged involvement of both detainees in the wave of robberies recorded over recent months.
Once the police proceedings were concluded, the arrested individuals were handed over to the competent judicial authority.
