Adapted golf cart for the Pope in La Laguna, Tenerife.

Pope Leo XIV will use an adapted golf cart during his visit to La Laguna, Tenerife, on June 12th to travel through Viana and San Agustín streets and greet the faithful.

The North American pontiff will debut this vehicle, prepared at the Real Club de Golf de Tenerife in Tacoronte, with the aim of facilitating closer contact with citizens. This golf cart will be one of the three modes of transport he will use after arriving at Los Rodeos airport.
Following his meeting at the migrant center of Las Raíces and an engagement with third sector agents and NGOs in the Plaza del Cristo, the Pope will board the golf cart to head to the Bishopric of Tenerife, on San Agustín street. A stop is scheduled there around 11:30 AM for a brief rest and greeting of authorities.
Subsequently, the pontiff will travel to Santa Cruz, where he will use the popemobile brought from Gran Canaria to tour various squares and avenues to the port, where a mass will be celebrated.
This will be the second time Pope Leo XIV uses a golf cart, following an initial use planned in Madrid, always aiming to ensure closeness with the congregation. The organization has placed great importance on the preparations, with the bishop of the Diocese of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Eloy Santiago, overseeing the details of the route.
The route through Viana and San Agustín streets has been adapted to facilitate proximity, reserving part of the road for the elderly and sick, taking advantage of the proximity of the Hospital de Dolores. The presence of cloistered nuns is also expected.
