The San Bartolomé City Council successfully celebrated the traditional Hat Dance last night at Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park, an event that gathered residents and visitors for a night of creativity, music, and togetherness.
The celebration, organized by the Festivities Department, reaffirmed its participatory nature under the slogan ‘Create your hat, live the tradition’. Attendees showcased their ingenuity with original designs, transforming the venue into a spectacle of color and tradition.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, emphasized the event's importance: “The Hat Dance is now one of the major events of our festivities and a celebration that we feel is very much our own. What makes this night special is precisely the participation of the citizens, who year after year put all their creativity and enthusiasm into growing a tradition that is part of our festivities.” He added that the council aims to promote activities that foster intergenerational connection and participation.
“
"From the City Council, we want to continue promoting activities that allow people to enjoy, participate, and come together, and this night is a magnificent example of that. I want to thank everyone who has joined and made it possible for our festivities to continue bringing different generations together around fun and coexistence."
The evening featured musical performances by Nueva Stella, Vocal Force, and Los Conejeros, who energized the celebration late into the night. The Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, highlighted the audience's response and the fusion of tradition, creativity, and fun that characterizes the event.
“
"Once again, the public has responded to one of the most special nights of our festivities. The Hat Dance demonstrates that tradition, creativity, and fun can go hand in hand and that we have a citizenry eager to participate and enjoy our festivals."
Luzardo also thanked the participants for their effort and imagination in preparing their hats. The registration process at the venue facilitated the participation of numerous attendees, consolidating the Hat Dance as one of the most distinctive offerings of the San Bartolomé Patron Saint Festivities, noting the success of participation and the event's safety.
The San Bartolomé City Council has expressed its gratitude to all attendees and collaborators who made another successful edition of this festive event possible, as well as to the security forces and services that ensured the event proceeded without incident.
