The Cabildo de Lanzarote has awarded the improvement works for a total of 439,913.01 euros, including taxes. Suministro Integral del Agua, S.L., was the sole bidder in the procurement process, submitting an economic offer of 411,133.66 euros excluding taxes, considerably lower than the estimated contract value.
These projects, with an execution period of three months, aim to address the accumulated wear and tear in the theater's facilities, which opened in 2007 and has been in continuous use since.
The intervention will primarily involve the complete replacement of the seats. Progressive deterioration of the upholstery, padding, and folding mechanisms has necessitated this upgrade, which will not only enhance spectator comfort but also align the theater with current safety regulations for evacuation and fire protection.
Additionally, the audience floor will be addressed. Currently, some emergency lighting wiring runs on the surface via conduits, creating uneven levels that can lead to trips and falls, and hindering accessibility compliance. The floor renovation will integrate this wiring, eliminating obstacles and improving public safety.
The initial base tender budget for this project was 517,544.74 euros. The awarded offer therefore represents a saving of over 77,000 euros from that initial amount. The contracting company has 15 business days from the award notification to formalize the contract.
