Firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium extinguished a fire on Saturday night in a home located on Guanarame Street in Arrecife. The fire originated from a ceramic hob in the kitchen.
The tenants left the premises upon noticing the fire. A neighbor, with the help of another, used an extinguisher to reduce the flames, which affected the extractor fan, kitchen furniture, and ceiling, as well as causing smoke throughout the kitchen and hallway.
Firefighters proceeded to completely extinguish the flames using spray and jet water. They subsequently ventilated the home and located necessary medication for one of the residents. The service concluded with firefighters assisting in collecting belongings so the affected individuals could spend the night with relatives.
