The proposal comes at a time when the Arrecife City Council is maintaining an active control file on the company ASIDMA Servicios Sociales. On September 17, the local administration formally required the entity to rectify various irregularities detected in the execution of the contract.
According to municipal reports, multiple incidents were recorded between August 18 and September 1, including service cancellations and changes to agreed conditions. The document warns that these deficiencies show an increasing trend, leading the council to consider applying penalties or even terminating the contract if the situation persists.
NC-BC argues that the current outsourcing model does not guarantee the necessary quality for an essential service aimed at the elderly and dependent individuals. The group advocates for a management change that would allow for the expansion of both the budget and staff, citing as reference points municipalization processes recently carried out in other municipalities across the country.
