The operation, designed to ensure the smooth running of festive events and citizen safety, included a significant reinforcement during large concerts attended by over 30,000 people. Officers from various units, including the Response Operational Group and the Prevention and Reaction Unit deployed from Las Palmas, participated, with more than 50 police officers simultaneously on duty.
Throughout the twelve days of celebration, preventive checks led to the identification of over 560 individuals. 135 reports were filed for possession or consumption of narcotics, 22 for weapon possession, and four for acts of disrespect, in accordance with current citizen security regulations.
Officers intervened in several altercations, successfully restoring order and preventing incidents from escalating. Six humanitarian services were also carried out. In total, police actions resulted in 12 arrests.
Five of the arrests were related to public health offenses. The remaining arrests corresponded to incidents involving gender violence, assault on an authority agent, resistance, disobedience, and injuries. Additionally, one person was arrested on an outstanding judicial warrant.
The operation ensured that the various scheduled events proceeded safely, balancing the festive atmosphere with the protection of attendees. The National Police highlighted the generally good behavior of the public and reaffirms its commitment to protecting rights and freedoms and ensuring the safety of those participating in such large-scale events.
