The council has set May 30th as the deadline for submitting bids for this contract, which will have a duration of four years. The tender includes the installation of up to 1,698 sun loungers and 849 umbrellas, as well as walkways, kayaks, and paddle boats. The possibility of an extension has been ruled out, as the permit from Costas does not allow for it, necessitating a new tender in 2030.
The current proposal is similar to the one that was in effect at the beginning of the decade and involved the same four beaches. The fee paid to the City Council will be used to cover the costs of cleaning and maintaining the coastline.
The distribution of equipment will be as follows: Grande beach will have 740 sun loungers and 370 umbrellas in four zones; Los Pocillos will have 634 sunbeds and 317 parasols in six areas; Matagorda will feature 304 sunbeds and 152 umbrellas in two zones; and Chica beach will receive 20 sun loungers and 10 umbrellas.
During the summer season (June to September), the setup of the equipment must take place between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. In the winter season (October to May), the hours will be reduced from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No permanent structures or non-removable elements that leave debris on the coast after the authorization period will be permitted.
All equipment, both sun loungers and umbrellas, must be newly acquired and unused, complying with a uniform model and color. The arrangement will be two sun loungers per umbrella, with an average separation of half a meter between loungers and one meter between sets.
