The Science and Innovation Weeks in the Canary Islands (SCIC26) begin their twenty-second edition on November 3rd with nearly fifty free activities distributed throughout the archipelago, promoted by the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Throughout November, over 30 collaborating entities, including research centers, universities, museums, and technology parks, will offer multidisciplinary proposals. The aim is to bring scientific knowledge closer to citizens, promote a culture of innovation, and spark early vocations among the islands' students.
The program, predominantly in-person and complemented by online activities, kicks off with highlighted events on each island. La Palma will focus on water resources with the GENESIS program and on astronomy with Astronorte. Gran Canaria will feature the ÍNSULA festival, visits to PLOCAN and ITC, and workshops on history and astronomy.
El Hierro will highlight its natural territory with routes and open days at Finca Las Cancelitas, linked to the Geopark. Fuerteventura will offer activities at the Archaeological Museum of Betancuria, guided tours of the Technology Park, and a forum on innovation. Tenerife will include visits to the IAC and IACTEC, the La Orotava Science Fair, workshops on agro-data and 'heat islands', artificial intelligence workshops, and the MUCAT 2026 exhibition.
In Lanzarote, initiatives such as 'Meet the Scientists of Timanfaya' and workshops on 'Margarita Salas and DNA' will take place, the latter also reaching La Graciosa. La Gomera will be integrated into the regional CODECAN circuit.
Also noteworthy is the 'Encounters with Chemistry 2026' cycle, with ten events across the islands addressing current issues and fostering dialogue between the public and professionals. Additionally, workshops on the Canary Islands Science Law and digital skills will be held.
The online component of SCIC26 will offer interactive experiences, such as learning to operate robotic telescopes from the IAC or participating in 'One Health' talks organized by the ULPGC's IUSA. The CODECAN program will provide sessions on digital skills.
Detailed information on each activity, schedules, and reservation forms are available on the official ACIISI agenda at www.cienciacanaria.es/scei2026.
