The Fuerteventura Island Council has tendered the project for the Day Care Center for Dependent Elderly in Costa Calma, municipality of Pájara, with an investment of 5,181,048.74 euros and an execution period of 16 months.

The Council's Department of Social Action has opened the tender process for the construction of this facility, which will provide the southern part of the island with 30 new socio-sanitary places. The president of the institution, Lola García, highlighted the commitment to increasing resources for dependent individuals, placing them "always at the center of the island institution's policies".
This project is part of the Socio-Sanitary and Family Respite Infrastructure Plan 2026/2031, designed in coordination with the island's various town councils. The Minister of Social Action, Víctor Alonso, emphasized that this center, along with those already in operation and under construction, "will help resolve the existing shortage of socio-sanitary and family respite places".
The facility, to be located in the Cañada del Río area in Pájara, will have a capacity for 30 places and will offer individualized, family, and group care. Services will include catering, personal care, health assistance, social and psychological support, and transportation.
The mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, expressed gratitude for the inter-administrative coordination that enabled the land cession and the impetus from the island Corporation to make this resource a reality, which will be financed with the Council's own funds.
The deadline for interested companies to submit offers will begin on September 3rd and will end on September 29th, 2026, at 12:00 PM. All information is available on the Fuerteventura Island Council's Contractor Profile.
