One man, who sustained moderate stab wounds, was transferred to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura by a medicalized ambulance. The other victim, who had a serious stab wound to the chest, was evacuated by a medicalized helicopter to the University Hospital Insular of Gran Canaria.
The incident took place at 05:38 on Sunday morning on Avenida del Saladar, in the municipality of Pájara. The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1 1 2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert about a knife fight in a shopping center in Morro Jable.
Immediately, the 1 1 2 activated the necessary emergency resources, including medicalized ambulances, a basic life support ambulance, Local Police, Firefighters of Pájara, and the Civil Guard.
The two injured individuals were initially stabilized at the local health center. Subsequently, one of them was transferred by medicalized ambulance to the helipad in Morro Jable for evacuation by helicopter to the hospital in Gran Canaria, given his serious condition.
The Civil Guard has initiated the appropriate proceedings to clarify the events, while Firefighters and Local Police personnel collaborated with the other emergency resources.
