The fair, open until Sunday, October 11th, offers residents and visitors the opportunity to discover the offerings of participating establishments and explore proposals from various commercial sectors of the island.
The president of the Cabildo de La Gomera, Casimiro Curbelo, highlighted that Exposaldo allows for a representative sample of the island's commerce to be concentrated in one space, facilitating direct contact between businesses and the public, complemented by diverse programming to maintain activity throughout the weekend.
The insular counselor for Tourism, Commerce, and Consumption, María Isabel Méndez, emphasized that the fair brings together different types of establishments and proposals, allowing the public to purchase products and services at bargain prices. She underscored the presence of fashion in the program, with a runway show featuring local businesses and designers from the ‘La Gomera, Moda y Magia’ project.
For her part, the mayor of San Sebastián de La Gomera, Angélica Padilla, noted that this edition is an opportunity to highlight the effort of local merchants, support the island's business fabric, and boost the local economy, transforming the Plaza de Las Américas into a meeting and leisure space.
Today's program, Saturday, October 10th, includes children's craft and face-painting workshops, as well as inflatable obstacle courses. From 11:00 AM, Radio Rumberos FM will broadcast live, followed by a family show with Güicho Estévez, and performances by the group Hijos del Silbo at 1:00 PM and 7:15 PM.
In the afternoon, sustainable workshops on clothing reuse will take place. The main attraction of the day will be the fashion show at 8:30 PM, featuring local businesses and designers associated with ‘La Gomera, Moda y Magia’.
On Sunday, the fair opens at 10:00 AM with more workshops and inflatable castles. The day will conclude with a performance by Grupo Los Satélites at 1:00 PM, followed by the diploma ceremony and the official closing at 2:00 PM.
